Clarence M. Green, 91, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April14, 2021.
Green, as he was affectionately called by everyone, was born to Walter and Millie Green
in Hopkins, S.C. on August 4, 1929. He was the youngest of eight.
In 1950 Green married his devoted wife, Gloria Denton. Green and Gloria were blessed
with 65 years of marriage and three loving daughters. Green is preceded in death by his
loving wife (Gloria Green) his father (Walter Green), his mother (Millie Green), and
siblings – Elbert Green, Minnie Tuggleo, Belle Meetze, Will Green, Anne Barksdale,
Heyward Green and Mary Jane Flateau.
Green served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force obtaining the rank of Senior Master
Sergeant (SMSGT). Following his military career Green started his own auto repair
business, Green’s Auto Service.
Green is survived by his daughters: Vanessa (Nessa) Green (Camp Springs, MD),
DeMina (DeeDee) Green and Clareta (BaBa) Broadnax both of Pensacola, FL,
grandchildren: Angela Monique Broadnax (St. Louis, MO), Tiffany Green, Jonathan
Green, and Brian (Jasmine) Broadnax of Pensacola, FL, great-grandchildren: Langston
Green, Giselle Green, Kennedy Broadnax, brother-in-law: Joseph (LaPearl) Denton,
sister-in-laws: Carolyn Denton and Sylvia Denton and numerous nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
A viewing will be held at Benboe Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 – 2:00 and at
St Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday from 8:00 – 9:00. A mass of Christian burial
will be held Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at
Barrancas National Cemetery. Benboe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
