Mr. Carl Bryant Obituary

Carl Ervin Bryant Jr. aka Meechie
Carl Ervin Bryant Jr., aka “Meechie” to family and friends, was born on April 30, 1963, in Pensacola, FL., to Patricia Wills and Carl Bryant Sr. He passed away on November 16, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and warmth that will forever be cherished.
He began his early life in New York before returning to Pensacola to continue his education. He obtained his high school diploma in 1981 from Pensacola Junior College.
Shortly after, he joined the United States Navy and worked as an electrician. His Navy career took him worldwide, and he ultimately received an Honorable discharge in 1986. The same year, he and Nora Sanders joyfully welcomed their cherished daughter, Padra Bryant, into the world.
Continuing the family legacy, he discovered his true calling and passion as a master chef. He relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he honed his culinary skills with the guidance of his aunt, Odessa Felton, by working in the family's catering business for several years.
Meechie had the gift of lighting up a room with his humor. He could tell stories like no other, having people laughing so hard it hurt. He was a true caring comic! His laughter will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Also, he was a diehard Saints fan, wearing his loyalty to the team as proudly as his humor.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Sukarno Bryant, grandmother: Ruby Riley, stepfather: Bennie L. Robbins Sr., aunts: Odessa Felton and Erma Bryant and uncles: David Bryant and Albert Tumblin. Left to mourn his loss is daughter: Padra (Jonathan) Daughtry, stepdaughter: Twaquina Purifoy, mother: Patricia Robbins, father: Carl Bryant Sr., sisters: Tawana (Roderick) Steele, Lorraine (Gerard) Guichard, and Kayla (Derrick) Milligan, brother: Bennie L. Robbins, Jr., grandchildren: Melanie Bryant, Nicholas Daughtry, and Julian Daughtry, aunts: Maxine (David) Davis, Joyce Tumblin, Cassandra Logan, Donna (Johnny) Findley, and Beverly Gulley, uncles: Charles (Carol) Bryant, Miles (Willa) Bryant, Peter (Demetrice) Riley, and Samuel Felton II, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
